  • Drill with a 5mm bit

  • Phillips-head screwdriver

  • Flat-head screwdriver

  • Wire stripper or side cutters

  • Cable for peripheral wiring (4 Core or 6 Core Comms Cable, 2 core Twin Flex or Ripcord)

Configure Texecom Elite Alarm System

Programming for serial communication

  1. Enter the Engineers code (default ‘1234’).

  2. If it says a user needs to grant you access, enter a user code and then retry.

  3. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “UDL/Digi Options”, press yes/tick.

  4. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “UDL Options”, press yes/tick.

  5. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “UDL Password is:”.

  6. Press the no/cross to edit it, enter “1234” then press yes/tick.

  7. Press the ‘Menu’ key once to go back.

  8. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “Com Port Setup:”, press yes/tick.

  9. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “Com Port 1”, and press no/cross.

    Note: If Com Port 1 is in use already, simply select Com Port 2.

  10. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach “SmartCom”, press yes/tick.

  11. Press ‘Menu’ until asked if you want to Exit and Logoff, press yes/tick.


Programming for ATS fault / Interconnection monitoring (If Required)

  1. Enter the Engineers code (default ‘1234’).

  2. If it says a user needs to grant you access, enter a user code and then retry.

  3. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach 'Global Options', press yes/tick.

  4. Press the ‘Down’ Key until you reach 'Monitor Hardware', press no/cross.

  5. To activate ATS Path Faults, press '1' until the initial '*' changes to 'P', confirm by pressing yes/tick.
    Note: ATS Path Faults may already be enabled based on your Region.

  6. Press ‘Menu’ until asked if you want to Exit and Logoff, press yes/tick.

Connecting the Olarm MAX

See wiring diagram below and follow the accompanying steps

Wiring the Olarm MAX to the Alarm System

  1. Power down your alarm system.

  2. Cut and strip the 4-pin side of the reversible peripheral cable.

  3. Wire the stripped end of the peripheral cable into the terminals found on the back of the Olarm MAX.

  4. Plug the 5-pin side of the peripheral cable to the programmed Com Port on your Texecom Premier Elite.

Wiring the ATS fault / Interconnection monitoring (If Required)

  1. Connect a wire from IO port 1 on the Olarm MAX to the L/M (Line Monitor port) on the Texecom Premier Elite panel.

  2. Apply a 4.7 kΩ pull-up resistor between the L/M port and the DC+ terminal.

    Note: IO port 1 can be used to signal an ATS fault to the Texecom Premier Elite.

Add the Olarm MAX to the Olarm APP

  1. Tap on add device or the plus icon in the top right corner.

  2. Scan the QR code found in the internal battery compartment in the back of the Olarm MAX.

    *Alternatively enter the serial & verification number manually which is found beneath the QR Code.

Set the UDL code in the Olarm APP

In order for the Olarm APP to have full functionality of the peripheral, the Master/User/Keypad/UDL code will need to be entered in the app.

  1. Tap on the menu icon.

  2. Then tap on “Device Setup”.

  3. Scroll down to “Master/User/Keypad/UDL Passcode” and enter the relevant code.

  4. Test the functionality of the newly installed app solution.


Connect the Olarm MAX to WiFi

The Olarm MAX’s WiFi connection can be setup in one of two ways:

Olarm APP Method

  1. Tap on 'WiFi setup' on the top banner.

  2. Select the relevant WiFi network.

  3. Type the password, then finally press “Connect”.



WPS Mode Method

  1. Hold the “Fn” button on the back of the Olarm MAX as show in the diagram.

  2. This will force the Olarm MAX into WPS mode (solid yellow) and will remain so for a period of 2 minutes.

  3. Whilst in WPS mode, you will need locate and press the WPS button on the back of the WiFi router of the network you are wanting to connect the Olarm MAX to. This will bypass the need for a password.
